How to choose: seven questions to ask
Start from what you need to decide, not from the feature list. These are the points where the tools above actually differ.
1. Which AI engines are covered, on the plan you would buy
Engine lists differ more than anything else in the table. Some tools include a fixed set, some let you pick a few, and some sell extra engines as add-ons. Check the engines on the exact plan you would pay for, not the longest list on the website.
2. How often it measures
AI answers change from one run to the next, so a single check is a snapshot. Daily tracking shows movement sooner; a weekly full measurement across all engines gives a steadier number. Some tools do both on different scopes. Ask which engines are measured how often.
3. Share of voice against competitors, or only mentions
A mention count tells you whether you appeared. Share of voice tells you how much of the conversation you hold against the competitors you chose. Ask each vendor how they define it and what happens when an engine fails to answer: a failed check should not be counted as zero.
4. Can you open the answer behind each number
A number you cannot check is hard to act on. Look for the dated answer text, the sources the engine cited, and the question that produced it, so you can see why a figure moved.
5. API and MCP access
If you want the data in your own reports, or want to ask ChatGPT or Claude about it through MCP, check which plan includes API or MCP access. In several tools it starts above the entry plan.
6. Price, and what the price counts
Entry prices are not directly comparable. Tools count questions, credits or checks differently, some prices are annual-only, and some engines cost extra. Compare what you get for the number of questions and engines you actually need.
7. Turkish and local-market support
The answers that matter are the ones your customers get, in their language and market. If you sell in Turkey, check whether you can track Turkish questions and read the product in Turkish.

Turkish support
For the 8 tools other than SOV Tracker, the official pages we checked did not state Turkish-language support. Some list Turkey as a country or say they support many languages. That does not mean the tools cannot handle Turkish questions; it means you should ask the vendor and test with your own Turkish questions before you buy.
SEO suite or dedicated tracker?
If your team already lives in Semrush or Ahrefs, start by checking their AI visibility products, because the data sits next to your search work. A dedicated tracker is worth a look when you need competitor share of voice, the answer evidence behind each number, a specific engine mix, or local-language tracking that a suite does not state.

Why these tools
Profound, Peec AI and Otterly.AI each have a detailed comparison page on our site. The other five are the tools that AI answers named most often after those three when we measured category questions about our own site on 2026-09-07 and 2026-10-08. Other good tools exist; this is not a complete market map.
