Dashboard Feature

AI Traffic Analytics

Share of Voice tells you whether AI talks about your brand. AI Traffic tells you what happens next: the people who read an AI answer, click your link, and land on your site. Install a small snippet once, and the AI Traffic page in your dashboard shows which AI tool sent each visit, which page it landed on, and how the volume moves day by day.

How the measurement works

Four steps, and nothing hidden between them. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you paste the snippet to the moment a number appears in your dashboard.

  1. 1. Paste one snippet on your site

The AI Traffic page in your dashboard generates a short script for your organization. You paste it into your site's HTML just before the closing body tag, on every page or through your tag manager. It renders nothing, it changes nothing else on your site, and you install it once.

  2. 2. A visitor clicks through from an AI answer

When someone reads an answer in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot or Claude and follows the link to you, the browser reports where that visit came from. The snippet sends a single beacon per page view, and only when the visit actually came from an AI tool.

  3. 3. The server decides what counts

Classification happens on our server rather than inside your snippet, so when a new AI source is recognised you never have to paste the code again. Referrers that are not AI tools are dropped and never written down. Page reloads and back or forward navigation are treated as mechanical repeats of the same landing, so one arrival is never counted twice.

  4. 4. You read the result in the dashboard

The AI Traffic page shows the last 30 days: a breakdown by AI source, your top landing pages, and a daily trend. Direct AI referrals and AI-tagged visits are kept apart on purpose, because a tagged link may have travelled through messaging or email before it was clicked.

What you get

Three views over the last 30 days, each answering a different question about the visitors AI actually sends you.

Breakdown by AI source

See how the arrivals split across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude, with everything else grouped under a general AI category. Each source is shown with its direct referrals and its AI-tagged visits side by side, so you can tell a strong browser signal apart from a weaker link tag instead of reading one blended number.

Top landing pages

AI answers do not send everyone to your home page. The dashboard lists the paths that actually receive these visits, which usually tells you which of your pages an AI answer found worth citing. That is the page you should keep sharp, and the shape of the page you should write more of.

Daily trend

A day-by-day bar for the last 30 days, with empty days filled as zero so the line never hides a gap. It is the simplest way to connect a change you made on your site to the arrivals that followed it, and to notice a drop while it is still recent enough to explain.

Frequently asked questions

Does this show me AI crawlers and bots?

No, and we would rather say so plainly. AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, so a browser snippet cannot see them at all. What AI Traffic measures is the human visitor: someone who read an AI answer, clicked your link, and landed on your site. That is a narrower claim than bot analytics, and it is the one we can actually stand behind.

Which AI sources are recognised?

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot including Bing chat, and Claude are recognised by name. Other AI tools are grouped under a general AI category rather than being thrown away. The list of sources lives on our server, not in your snippet, so adding a newly recognised source never requires you to touch the code on your site again.

What do you store about my visitors?

No cookies, no IP addresses, no user agents and no device fingerprints. Query strings and URL fragments are stripped, so the only thing kept from the address is the page path such as /pricing, and the referring URL is reduced to its origin. Referrers that are not AI tools are discarded before anything is written at all, and stored events are purged automatically by a retention job. Because the path itself is kept, keep the snippet off any section whose addresses carry sensitive values.

Which plans include AI Traffic?

AI Traffic is available on Starter and above plans. On the Free plan the dashboard page shows an upgrade prompt in place of the report, so nothing about the feature is hidden from you before you decide.
